Muskingum Township in Washington County, Ohio is studying potential routes for the multi-use trail that will connect the communities of Devola and City of Marietta, Ohio. The goal of the study is to identify potential alignments and collect information about the project area.

The Wood-Washington-Wirt Interstate Planning Commission (WWWIPC) Transportation Plan Update 2040 discusses bicycle and pedestrian needs in the WWW service area. Bicycle and pedestrian needs identified in that plan include connecting Marietta to the surrounding communities, connecting Marietta’s River Trail at Indian Acres Park to Devola’s existing trail network at Broughton’s Nature and Wildlife Preserve, and connecting the existing Devola Multi-Use Trail to Devola and Devola’s Dam.
